FAQ

Booking routines
1. Can I specify the cabin or apartment I want to book (e.g. Bakkebygrenda 2B)?

No, unfortunately not. We never confirm a cabin number, but it is always possible to request a certain cabin or apartment. We will try to accommodate all wishes as far as possible. The main reason for not confirming cabin or apartment numbers is that it may create problems for you as guest and for us as hosts if, for example, there is something wrong with the cabin or apartment that you have been promised.

2. We are a group of friends who want to book with you, but we are all under 20 years of age. Can we still book a cabin or apartment from you?
No, this is not permitted. There must be at least one person over 20 who is responsible for the group. The stay must also be registered against one person who is over 20. In the new year and easter periods all the guests staying in our cabins and apartments must be over 20 years of age. A valid ID-card will be requested at point of check in.

Paying for your stay
3. When must I pay for my stay?
25 % of the rental must be paid at least 12 days after the booking was made, and the remainder 75 % at least 60 days before arrival.
If booking takes place later than 6 weeks before arrival, the entire amount must be paid immediately, principally using a credit or debit card.

NB: When online booking is used for your accommodation we debit your creditcard. 25 % of the rental will be charged 12 days after the booking was made, and the remainder 60 days before arrival.

Deposit
4. How do I pay a deposit?

When you check in, we reserve the right to register your credit card. The deposit rate for 4 – 9 beds is NOK 1000, for 10 – 19 beds is NOK 2000 and 20 – 36 beds NOK 5000. The credit card/debit card will not be debited unless the guest agrees, we only reserve the amount temporarily. The deposit protects us against the cabins being vandalised, etc.

Cancellation insurance
5. What happens if I have to cancel my stay?
If you want your money returned in the case of cancellation, you must have paid cancellation insurance.
Prices for cancellation insurance:
4 to 9 beds: NOK 350
10 to 19 beds: NOK 700
20 to 36 beds: NOK 2000
Note that cancellation insurance must be paid with the first down payment of the rental to be valid. If accommodation is cancelled more than 30 days before arrival, the down payment is refunded, with a deduction of NOK 500 per unit. In the case of cancellation less than 30 days before arrival a medical certificate must be shown if the accommodation fee is to be refunded. (Only applies in the case of illness, serious accident or death). The cancellation insurance will not be refunded, and the cancellation must be made in writing.
